Rolf Session 7 mentoring by Sara Soltau, Cert. Adv. Rolfer(R)
September 16th, 2013 by Joachim Creten
I am still an Rolfer-in-Training and this session is the most challenging for me because of my knowledge in TMJ and Cranio Sacral Therapy. I have to use Rolfing technique and not duplicate stroke for other techniques. This mentoring program is required by The Rolf Institute, Boulder, CO to access to last Unit for Certification. Here feedback of the client after this rolf session: “
This session focused on my head and neck, and then on connecting to my back and torso. I am just fascinated to learn that the old nursery song about bones (“The knee bone is connected to the thigh bone…”) really applies to soft tissue as well. It’s something I had never thought about until participating in these Rolfing sessions. Once again, I was asked to turn my head, lift or rotate it, for Joachim to completely maneuver the muscles and tissues in my neck and shoulders. I was amazed to find that my ability to walk in a straight line changed with only work on my neck and shoulders. I’m also working on keeping my shoulders level and my chin parallel with the floor. Each session brings out additional ways I can keep my body working smoothly and effectively.”
